Two new EU Projects GreenAca and YOUCamp

CSIT is thrilled to announce the kick-off of two innovative projects under the Erasmus+ program, both set to redefine the landscape of grassroots sports and youth development.

As announced during the 45th Annual Congress of CSIT by the Head of International Project Office Valeria Gherardini, starting in January 2024 and running through December of the same year, these projects mark significant milestones in promoting environmental sustainability and empowering youth through sports.

GREENACA - ACADEMY OF ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY IN GRASSROOTS SPORT

GreenAca aims to establish an Academy equipped with digital tools and international workshops to empower grassroots sports organizations' staff with knowledge and skills in environmental sustainability. By focusing on children and families residing outside urban centers, the project strives to increase environmental awareness through sports activities. With CSIT as the coordinator, GreenAca brings together the partners from Italy (AiCS), Finland (TUL), Spain (UCEC), Croatia (HLA), Austria (Seeburg Castle University), and Greece (SportCamp).

Main Objective: Empowering sports managers and coaches with skills to integrate environmental sustainability into grassroots sports activities aimed at children.

Impact:

  • Development of skills and knowledge among sports managers and coaches.
  • Provision of new educational tools to grassroots sports organizations.

YOUCAMP - YOUTH CAMPS FOR ALL

Building upon the success of previous programs like YOULead, YOUCamp is designed to organize inclusive youth sports camps for individuals aged 14 to 19. The project, coordinated by CSIT, focuses on promoting healthy lifestyles, gender balance in sport industry, and increased youth participation in sports. Alongside CSIT, partners from Italy (AiCS), Finland (TUL), Spain (UCEC), Croatia (HLA), Austria (ASKÖ), and Greece (HOCSH) collaborate to deliver this transformative initiative.

Camp Objectives:

  • Promoting gender equality through mixed-gender sports activities.
  • Engaging participants in creating innovative sports activities promoting sustainability and inclusivity.
  • Empowering youth to actively participate in sports activities and reduce the dropout.

Impact:

  • Encouragement of healthy lifestyles and gender balance in sports.
  • Increased participation of youth in sports activities.
