Intensive days in Malta

The CSIT working meetings on Malta were busy but also very productive

For some members of the CSIT ExCom, the meeting days on the Mediterranean island were very intensive and busy. In addition to the normal ExCom meeting, there was also an important strategy meeting the day before with many discussion points on the further development and strategic orientation of CSIT in the coming years. Topics were also the current situation of the CSIT World Sports Games 2023 in Cervia (ITA) as well as the next CSIT WSG 2025 in Loutraki (GRE), which are also already in preparation.

Games in Cervia 2023 on track
The EMILIOC - Emilia Romagna Organising Committee for the WSG 2023 also gave a status quo report for Cervia. The registration figures are encouraging (REGISTRATION-Platform!). Despite the devastating floods in Emilia Romagna a few weeks ago, the WSG will take place. The storms had almost no impact on the venues and thus on the games. Politicians and tradesmen from the region made another appeal that the best way to help is for as many tourists as possible to come to Cervia and for many athletes to take part in the WSG Cervia 2023. Final registration deadline is 30 June! For any questions, EMILIOC can be contacted directly.

Election-Congress in November
Treasurer Christian Vifian presented the CSIT Financial Statements 2022 to the ExCom, which were unanimously approved and are ready to be presented to the Congress. The CSIT Elective Congress is already in preparation and will take place from 6 to 12 November in Barcelona (ESP). All information on the Congress can be found on the CSIT website.
During the Congress, CSIT Full Members will also have the opportunity to vote on the new Executive Committee. The deadline for sending candidatures is 15 September (only CSIT Full Members!). For further information, please contact CSIT Secretary General Wolfgang Burghardt.

Welcome Australia!
Many interesting sports organisations want to become members of CSIT. The CSIT ExCom in Malta has accepted the membership application of Little Athletics Australia. The world amateur confederation is thus also putting out feelers to the fifth continent and is pleased about the interest of "DOWN UNDER".  Already at the 2023 Games in Cervia, some young athletes from Little Athletics in Australia want to make their way to Europe and take part in the WSG. Even if the short start-up time means a big organisational and financial challenge for the participants, the federation wants to get a personal impression of the World Games through the participants, in order to then advertise big for 2025 and arrive with a larger delegation.
