Diversity
As can be seen in our Statutes, CSIT, as an amateur sports confederation, is based on the ideals of democracy, solidarity and fraternity. We refrain from any discrimination for reasons of sex, age, race, and cultural provenance and are committed to promoting inclusivity as well as diversity and recognizes the importance of creating an environment where individuals of all backgrounds and identities feel welcome and valued.
Diversity encompasses various dimensions, including, but not limited to race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, socioeconomic background, and cultural heritage. By actively seeking and embracing diversity in all its forms, we create a more inclusive and equitable environment where individuals can flourish and reach their full potential. We firmly believe that sports should be a platform for unity, respect, and celebration of diversity, including the LGBTQ+ community.
Lesbians, gays, bisexuals, transgenders, queers, and other gender and sexual minorities have faced significant challenges and discrimination within sports. CSIT is committed to addressing these issues and taking proactive steps to ensure that our federation becomes a safe, inclusive, and affirming space for LGBTQ+ athletes, coaches, officials, and fans.
CSIT is also part of the showcase EU Erasmus+ project Sport for all genders and sexualities (SGS), which aims at creating an open-minded culture open to all genders. Through this project, an inclusive environment should be established, so that the participation of all sexualities can be promoted in European grassroot sport.
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is rooted in the belief that everyone, regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity, should have equal opportunities to participate, compete, and excel in sports. We strive to create an environment where LGBTQ+ individuals feel free to be their authentic selves, without fear of prejudice, harassment, or discrimination.
As an international federation, we believe that by embracing diversity, we create a stronger and more vibrant community. Therefore CSIT appreciates these diverse identities, cultures, and is certain that diversity fosters innovation, creativity, and a deeper understanding of one another.
