Welcome in Ostende 2024

"Warm up" as athletes gear towards for the CSIT Swimming Championships

Delegations arrive at “Brigitte Becue” swimming complex

All participants arrived in Ostende, Belgium, at the beginning of the week, where the CSIT Swimming Championships 2024 will take place from Wednesday. On Tuesday afternoon, the delegations had the opportunity to warm up in the competition pool and explore the venue. Equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, the facility offers everything needed for two intense days of competition. Over 300 swimmers from countries such as Italy, Mexico, Austria, France, the Netherlands, Finland and Belgium are already looking forward to the exciting competitions.

Camaraderie among the different nations and enthusiasm for the competitions are evident. The teams are ready for passionate but friendly competition over the next few days. The CSIT Swimming Championships are not only a celebration of swimming and sport, but also a unique opportunity for the athletes to socialise and make friends with people from other parts of the world - values that are important to the CSIT.

Reception at Ostende Town hall

While the athletes explored the venue, the CSIT Technical Commission, represented by Roberto Vecchione and Hugo Wanders, was welcomed at the Ostende town hall by Mayor Bart Tommelein. The delegates of the organizing committee of FROS, including Hubert Mattens and Katja Vranckx, among others, also attended the reception. Mr. Tommelein welcomed all delegates to the wonderful town of Ostende, highlighting the hospitality and ideal location of the town of Ostende for hosting the CSIT Swimming Championships 2024.
