“RKB Solidarität” realigns itself
The approximately 70 delegates from the regional associations engaged constructively with the key issues for the coming years. It was made clear that the association is ready to further develop its structures, its stance and its offerings, and to boldly tackle key issues for the future. With a renewed executive committee, groundbreaking decisions and a palpable spirit of optimism, the association not only wants to move with the times, but also actively shape its own future.
Tobias Köck, a young president who was already responsible for association development as vice-president in the last executive committee and has successfully led both the federal youth leadership of Solijugend and the German Federal Youth Council in the past, is taking over the leadership of the association. Long-time president Bernd Schwinn received special recognition. He was appointed honorary president and will continue to contribute his expertise to the executive committee.
The adoption of the Solijugend motion to anchor the prevention of interpersonal violence and to establish a prevention working group to provide structural support for the work of the Federal Commissioner was of particular significance. The aim is to take responsibility for safe spaces in sport and to ensure that prevention – including protection against physical, psychological and sexual violence – and neglect are not voluntary additional topics, but a mandatory part of the association's work. The decision follows fundamental requirements in organised sport.
Another landmark decision is the mandate given to the new executive committee to design an international sports holiday for adults over the age of 27. The holiday is to be anchored in popular sport, enable international encounters and at the same time address educational policy issues such as anti-Semitism in sport, doping prevention and transport and environmental issues.
Volunteering and the structural conditions for voluntary work were also a focus. The delegates tasked the executive committee with systematically investigating why volunteers are ending or reducing their involvement and why it is becoming increasingly difficult to recruit new people for tasks and positions. The results and measures to counter this are to be presented at the next federal conference.
