PLAYINC4KIDS – End of Year Achievements 2025

First major achievements in this multi-year EU - cofunded project

As 2025 comes to a close, PlayInc4Kids looks back on a year focused on building strong foundations for inclusive sport for children aged 6–13, with and without disabilities, and for their parents.
Throughout the year, project partners worked closely together to bring together research insights and practical experience from across Europe. Building on earlier PlayInc initiatives, the project adapted existing knowledge to the specific needs of younger children and family-based sport settings.

Developing a shared method for inclusive sport

One of the main outcomes of the year was the completion of Deliverable D2.2 – PlayInc4Kids Method and Evaluation: Guidelines for Implementing Inclusive Sport Environments.
The document provides a clear and accessible framework for clubs, coaches and organisations that want to strengthen inclusion in their everyday practice.
It brings together:
  • an overview of inclusion in sport and common barriers to participation,
  • insights from existing inclusion models in grassroots sport,
  • four key areas for action: supporting coaches, creating inclusive club environments, working closely with parents and adults, and raising awareness in the wider community,
  • concrete success stories from project partners showing how inclusion can work in practice,
  • a practical self-reflection checklist to help clubs review and improve their own approaches.

Clear communication across the project

In parallel, the consortium developed shared Communication Guidelines for PlayInc4Kids. These guidelines help all partners communicate consistently and accessibly about the project, while meeting EU requirements.
They outline who the project wants to reach, which channels to use, and how to present content clearly and recognisably across websites, social media, newsletters and offline materials.

Ongoing coordination and preparation

Regular coordination meetings throughout the year allowed partners to exchange experiences, align their approaches and prepare upcoming pilot activities in the participating countries. Work is continuing on collecting feedback, refining materials and preparing the next phase of dissemination.

Looking ahead to 2026

At the beginning of 2026, PlayInc4Kids will release its first major output of the new year: the Methods and Toolkit, designed to support clubs, coaches and other stakeholders in applying inclusive sport environments in practice.
