Ole Juhl has passed away
It is with great sadness that DAI Denmark announce the passing of Ole Juhl, a prominent figure within DAI, at the age of 83.
People often speak of those who have dedicated a lifetime of service to a cause. In Oles case, this could not be truer. Those who knew Ole highlight more than just his dedication; his character and nature left a lasting impression on everyone he met. Ole was a truly passionate spirit in the best sense of the word. He cared deeply about the association and the people involved in it. Everyone noticed his ability to make things work and to honor commitments. He was gentle, attentive, and the kind of person people enjoyed working with.
Ole Juhls involvement began at ATK - the Workers' Tennis Club - where he became a member in 1959 at the age of 16. He quickly became involved in organizational work, joining the match committee in 1964. He joined the board in 1967 and became vice-chairman in 1970. He served on the board until 2018 and continued working in the club’s secretariat right up until his death.

Ole Juhl also became a natural part of the tennis committee at DAI, serving for more than 40 years - significant portion of that time as chairman.
However, his commitment extended beyond national borders. He joined the tennis section of CSIT in 1996 and served there for 25 years; there, too, his efforts and dedication are fondly remembered.

Although he held many positions of trust, it was not honor or prestige that drew Ole to the work. He preferred to stay in the background. For him, it was about the work, the sport, the sense of community, and the results. He was happy to leave the accolades, speeches, and gala dinners to others.
Even after stepping down from his official roles, he would still cycle from his home in Vallensbæk to the club at Genforeningspladsen in Copenhagen. It was only a fortnight ago that he was last there, sitting on the terrace, enjoying a beer and the company of others. Ole Juhl is survived by two children and his grandchildren. May his memory be honored.
