“Nerocles” and “Alepodite”

Nerocles is the name of the wonderful mascot of the 8th WORLD SPORTS GAMES in the fantastic Greek spa and bathing resort of Loutraki and Corinth. But the friendly drop of water, which embodies water (nero) on the one hand and the ancient hero Heracles (Hercules) on the other, has found a living and very vital friend. A cheeky fox (Greek: Alepoú) visits the CSIT headquarters at the Ramada & Wyndham Poseidon Resort every evening. The cute animal became the second mascot of the Games even before the opening ceremony.
“We should call him ‘Alepokles’,” suggested a CSIT official. “But maybe she's a girl… In that case we should call her ‘Alepodite’!” In any case, the fox is no competition for the ever-smiling Nerocles, as the fox very likely enjoys the best water in Greece from the healing springs of Loutraki as well. May “Alepokles” or “Alepodite” bring just as much luck to the little drop of water as to all the athletes, referees and officials of WSG 2025!
