CSIT at the SportAccord IF-Forum
This year's IF FORUM at the Sport Accord in Lausanne from 21 to 24 October is dedicated to many different topic, all focussing on the future of Sports. Challenges and opportunities of the future, dedicated to strengthening the capacity of international federations to identify the issues and priorities they need to work on to keep up with the changing times. IOC Vice President Nicole Hoevertsz Oly delivered a clear message today: "Keeping up with the times means being ready for change and being flexible. From an in-depth analysis of the Paris Olympics 2024 we can draw important lessons for the preparation of the 2026 Milan Cortina Winter Olympics.”
CSIT is present in Lausanne with President Bruno Molea, Valeria Gherardini and General Secretary Wolfgang Burghardt. Bruno Molea stated: “In particular, the importance of gender equality, the involvement of young people and the role of social media in promoting participation and prominence were emphasised. At this edition of the FORUM, the IOC announced the inaugural edition of the e-sports Olympics, that will be staged in 2025. This too is a sign of keeping up with the times, dealing with e-sports means dealing with young people. And the message the IOC is giving us is clear: where young people are, Sport must be too. This year's IF FORUM is also dedicated to AI, lights and shadows of the tools that accompany us into the future. The topics are many, and as president of CSIT I am here to meet the many international organisations present at this edition of the forum, 400 delegates and experts from all over the world.”
