CSIT World Sports Games - American Football
AGWA, Amateur Gridiron World Association, formerly IAAFL, is member of CSIT an non-profit association based in Italy and active worldwide. In January 2014, a group of former players, coaches, referees, and European presidents with more than 30 years of experience in European American football met to discuss the development of the sport. In 2000 it was played in around 15 countries, in 2014 in more than 70 countries worldwide, and today in more than 80 countries — with potential for more. It all started in Europe in the 1980s with major sponsors and a semi-professional league, the famous NFL Europe. Unfortunately, it all died down quickly in many European countries. A group of enthusiasts then decided to set up an international association of volunteers to reignite growth of American football in Europe. With success. The IAAFL was created, which has now been transformed into the AGWA following the recent reform of the Italian Sports Code. The CSIT offers the sport another major platform. 200 participants are expected to take part in this sport.
