A Global Capital of Dance Sport for a Weekend
From November 22 to 24, 2024, the Republic of San Marino hosted one of the most prestigious dance sport events in the world under the patronage of CSIT. Over 700 dancers from 36 nations gathered at the Multieventi Sport Domus to compete for 18 world titles across a range of disciplines. The competition featured classic ballroom dances like the Slow Waltz and Tango as well as Latin American favorites such as Samba, Cha-Cha-Cha, and Jive.
The event celebrated not only as a thrilling sports competition but also as a cultural and tourist highlight. Organizers emphasized the international significance of this championship, which solidifies San Marino’s place on the global dance sport map. “These championships not only promote sports but also foster cultural exchange and raise the profile of our country,” stated Rossano Fabbri, Secretary of State for Sport.
Tourism plays a pivotal role, with thousands of fans filling hotels and enjoying the sights of San Marino. The championship promised to be a unique spectacle, combining world-class performances with the discovery of the region's rich cultural heritage.
