CSIT WSG 2025 – positive resume
Nikolaos Kerassovitis, the President of the Greek organiser HOCSH, presented a very detailed report to the ExCom and an impressive summary to the CSIT members present at the Congress. Three years of preparation and promotion more than paid off. Close 4000 athletes, team leaders and their companions, 80 organisations from 38 nations, means an event with a total of around 4500 people involved, the Games in Loutraki were one of the most successful to date. Among the 21 official sports, Swimming with 639 participants, Dancing with 498 and Catch’n ‘Serve Ball with 389 were the largest. Overall with WSG-Partners even 28 sports. Most were in the 46 to 50 age group. A total of 200 referees, timekeepers, judges, medical staff and drivers were needed to manage everything. In addition to this number, there were also many volunteers from the region. This really underlines the huge scale that the CSIT World Sports Games have now reached. It is also noteable that there was almost equal gender representation. The most successful delegation in terms of gold medals was ASKÖ Austria with 326 medals (120 gold, 123 silver and 83 bronze). Only one nation won more medals overall. INDET Mexico won 332 medals, but fewer gold medals (113-108-111).
