CSIT World Amateur Sports Forum 2025 in San Marino

The title is “Sustainable models for global amateur sports events”

The World Amateur Sports Forum is one of CSIT’s key platforms for the global promotion of amateur and grassroots sport. Since its first edition in Rome in 2019, the Forum has established itself as a space for dialogue, exchange of best practices, and presentation of innovative ideas in the field of sport. It brings together experts from grassroots sport, representatives of the Olympic and Paralympic movement, researchers, academics, sports managers, policy makers and athletes. This year`s edition will take place in San Marino on October 16 as opener for the annual CSIT Congress under the title “Sustainable models for global amateur sports events.”

San Marino as a case study
The Forum will open with institutional greetings from the Republic of San Marino and a keynote session focusing on “Small Nations, Big Impact – San Marino as a case study.” Further sessions will explore how amateur sport can strengthen youth inclusion, promote sustainability in events, and support community building. In addition, European experiences and best practices will be presented, including the results of the EU-funded projects Youth Drop-In and PlayInc4Kids.

Grassroots initiatives for well-being and equality
The Forum is designed to highlight the social, health-related, economic and educational impact of amateur sport. It aims to demonstrate the value of grassroots initiatives for promoting well-being and equality, while also strengthening social cohesion across communities. The event in San Marino will once again provide a platform for discussion, evidence-based insights and networking opportunities. It will serve as an inspiration for all those working in and with amateur sport worldwide.
