San Marino hosts the First Padel World Cup for Amateurs

The first World Amateur Padel Championships, an international event featuring amateur padel athletes from six nations, will be held from November 1-3, 2024 in San Marino. A unique event, organized by CSIT, the International Confederation of Amateur Sports, together with San Marino Welcome, which will transform the Republic of San Marino into the international capital of padel for three days of pure sporting passion.

The competition, hosted at the Wonderbay Sports Center, will offer the opportunity for amateur players to compete in a prestigious and evocative setting such as the Republic of San Marino: padel enthusiasts will have the chance to live an exclusive experience, immersing themselves not only in the game, but also in the cultural and natural beauties of San Marino, which is preparing to welcome athletes and companions with its unmistakable hospitality.

The event is sponsored by the Ministry for Tourism and the Ministry for Sport of San Marino "We are proud to support the first "San Marino Welcome Cup", an international event that offers the opportunity to see a new and trendy sport in a setting so strongly linked to traditions," said Federico Pedini Amati, Ministry of Tourism. "This amateur championship reinforces the image of San Marino as a destination of excellence for world-class sporting events."

The "San Marino Welcome Cup" is reserved exclusively for amateur players: 63 pairs from Italy to Spain, from Austria to San Marino who will be engaged in the competitions of men's doubles, women's doubles, mixed doubles and veteran men's doubles over 45. Players will compete in fixed-pair matches, thus creating a dynamic and engaging competition. The event is part of the CSIT World Championships 2024 and was made possible thanks to the support and collaboration of Mauro Marino, National Coordinator for the Tennis and Padel Sector, Training Manager and Secretary of the CSIT Technical Commission.

Competitions will be held Friday through Sunday: Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. the group stage for all categories and Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. the finals and awards ceremony.
