CSIT at the SportAccord IF Forum

The IF Forum takes place in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 2025

From October 27 to 29, 2025, the Sport Accord IF Forum for International federations will take place in the Olympic Museum in Lausanne, Switzerland. CSIT is represented at the Forum by its President Bruno Molea, by Valeria Gherardini, the head of the President´s office and responsible for international affairs within the CSIT, and by Wolfgang Burghardt, CSIT General Secretary. The CSIT actively contributed to the discussions on how the international sports community can work together to uphold the values of inclusivity, innovation, and hope.

At the opening day on Monday the new IOC President Kirsty Coventry delivered an inspiring address on the future of sport — emphasizing unity, shared values, and the responsibility to empower the next generation. Coventry reminded all participants that the IOC’s mission is to support the dreams of young people, even in turbulent times. Coventry spoke about the importance of protecting the principles and neutrality of sport, embracing technology and AI, and addressing even the uncomfortable topics that shape the global sports landscape.

Addressing delegates at the IF Forum for the first time as IOC President, Kirsty Coventry said: “We all have the same purpose to ensure our sports remain relevant, to create platforms for athletes to realise their hopes and dreams and live those dreams and hopes. We have a lot of turbulent times happening in our world; we are faced with many challenges and obstacles. We can only overcome them if we work together. We need to strengthen our policies on the protection of athletes. Protecting our principles and values – finding new and innovative ways of strengthening those principles and values. It is not always going to be easy. But just like a family we would always be making decisions for the betterment of our family.”

CSIT President Bruno Molea had the opportunity to speak directly with IOC President Kirsty Coventry, representing her the many Youth Projects of CSIT in Cooperation with the European Union, exchanging thoughts on cooperation between international sports organizations and the shared vision of inspiring youth through sport. Bruno Molea took the opportunity to personally introduce the CSIT to the new IOC President and present her the activities of the world federation and the CSIT World Sports Games.
